Here’s a brief introduction to the top 20 essential oils!

Make sure your collection has all the oils listed here!

1 – Lavender It’s no surprise that lavender would be the first oil mentioned on a list like this. It is the most commonly used essential oil. Anyone that has tried oils has tried lavender. It’s also an extremely popular scent in beauty and household products such as soaps, perfume, lotion, cleaners, etc. One of the most calming scents, Lavender is most commonly known as the “sleepy time” oil. It’s perfect for diffusing or rubbing onto your skin before bed to help with great sleep. But it can also be used to support healthy skin and help with damaged skin and support respiratory functions through the cold season.

2 – Peppermint is another extremely popular scent and can be used year-round. Whether you are celebrating the scents of winter and Christmas, or you are longing for something cool and refreshing in the heat of the summer, peppermint is very versatile. It’s great for adding to wellness blends as well, as it can help to fight off seasonal sickness and boost the immune system. Use it to wake up in the morning or for a boost of energy and mental alertness when driving or late in the day. Peppermint oil can be used to support healthy digestion and gastrointestinal comfort. It can also aid in weight management. Peppermint is another extremely popular scent and can be used year-round. 3 – Tea Tree Not only is Tea Tree one of the most popular essential oils, it’s also one of the most researched oils available. Tea Tree has tons of cleansing properties and help to freshen the air and fight stale and musty odors. Combine it with lemon oil for a natural deodorizer and use it to support healthy looking skin. It’s also amazing at freshening linens and adding cleansing boosts to soap and lotion. It’s clean and refreshing aroma can be very pleasing and works both to uplift your mood as well as help you relax.

4 – Lemon is the clean oil. It’s no wonder that most cleaning products are scented with lemon. But all-natural Lemon essential oil is way better than the chemical stuff! It also supports a healthy immune system and is usually found in wellness blends. Fight clothing stains and remove the sticky residue from stickers in a matter of seconds by rubbing a drop of lemon. This stuff can clean like nobody’s business. Create your own cleaning products using this oil, add it to a glass of water in the morning, use it in cooking or baking and much more!

5 – Eucalyptus is often grouped in with minty oils such as peppermint or spearmint. This is due to the components that make up the essential oil itself. Peppermint is special because of the menthol it contains (which is used in many products to add a cooling effect). Eucalyptus oil naturally contains eucalyptol, which has a similar effect. However, the aroma itself is very different. Think summer in Australia Refreshing and earthy, Eucalyptus can be stimulating and good for sustaining energy.

6 – Lemongrass oil is strong! The oil itself is quite thick and the aroma is heavy. It’s much more floral and earthy than regular lemon oil but can still be used for cleaning and fresh scents. The relaxing aroma makes it great for diffusing around the house or applying during a massage.

7 – Bergamot is a wonderfully wild oil with crisp citrus and floral aromas. It is used to provide the flavor of Earl Grey tea. It comes from the peel of a citrus fruit grown around the Mediterranean Sea. The aroma itself helps to lift your mood and lower stress. It’s perfect for using in the office or around the house. It also works wonders to promote young, healthy looking skin. Add it to skincare products baths or massages.

11 – Cinnamon is sweet, spicy and comforting! It’s a favorite oil in the fall and winter, when blending it with other oils helps to create the aromas when love during those seasons. This oil is considered “hot” meaning it can irritate the skin if not diluted properly. However, if you do dilute this oil with a carrier oil, it is great to use on the skin.

12 – Lime is one of the happiest aromas you’ll come across. When you diffuse lime by itself or in a blend, it’s hard not to imagine the joy of summer, the beach, being on a boat or a past vacation. Along with other citrus oils, lime can be used to increase energy and boost your mood. It’s great for diffusing in play areas or rooms where you want to encourage inspiration and creativity. 13 – Cedarwood The history and significance of cedarwood stretches as far back as Biblical times (cedars of Lebanon) and the ceremonial rites of the Ancient Egyptians. Today, the bark of the tree is distilled which produces this earthy, woodsy aroma with a deep sweetness. Add it to haircare products or use it in a DIY men’s cologne.

But as an essential oil, Oregano’s strong, spicy and herbal aroma and other characteristics can provide tons of benefits. It can be used along with other oils to help purify the air. Orange oil can help clean and freshen the air. When used on the skin, it can help to hide blemishes (just don’t go into the sun after applying to skin).
