Chemo for Bone Cancer

Senior Physiotherapy

Commonly used chemo drugs for Bone Cancer
According to Cancer.org these are the drugs primarily used to treat bone cancer. They are also used to treat many other types of cancer.

  • Doxorubicin (Adriamycin®)

  • Cisplatin

  • Etoposide (VP-16)

  • Ifosfamide (Ifex®)

  • Cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan®)

  • Methotrexate

  • Vincristine (Oncovin®)

NOTE:

  • Did you know that chemo CAUSES CANCER?

  • Did you know that chemo CAUSES DEATH?

  • Did you know that chemo CAUSES DEADLY Tumor Lysis Syndrome?

  • Did you know that chemo DESTROYS your bone marrow? (This is CRITICAL for life!)

  • Did you know that chemo DESTROYS your immune system? (This is also CRITICAL.)

  • Did you know that you can experience HEART FAILURE (even years later)?

  • Did you know that you can experience KIDNEY FAILURE?

  • How do you cure cancer with an agent that causes CANCER and DEADLY TUMORS and CAUSES DEATH?

(NOTE: Doctors will not tell you, but all chemo agents raise the chance for other cancers. This is because it is so toxic it destroys the immune system. Orthodox medicine will not tell you that it is the immune system that heals you... not chemo.)

(NOTE: ALL cells are made in the bone marrow... Red (transport oxygen), White (fight infection), Platelets (help the blood clot), Macrophages (destroys pathogens including cancer and regulates/controls the immune system), etc. Once the bone marrow has been destroyed your life is not long for this world.)

Doxorubicin Brand Name: Adriamycin

Warning:
• "The risk of a very bad bone marrow problem and second CANCER (type of leukemia) may be raised after treatment with doxorubicin (conventional). Talk with the doctor."

• "This medicine may cause severe heart problems like heart failureThis can happen during treatment or years after your last dose. Sometimes, these problems will not go away or may be deadly. The chance may be higher if you have ever had heart problems or chest area radiation, or are using other drugs that may cause heart problems. The chance may be higher if you have ever had doxorubicin (conventional) or other drugs like this one. Ask your doctor (?) if you are not sure if any of your drugs may cause heart problems. The chance of heart problems depends on the dose of this drug and your health problem. In children, the chance of heart problems later in life is higher. Heart problems may happen even without any risk factors. Call your doctor right away if you have cough, fast or slow heartbeat, abnormal heartbeat, swelling in the arms or legs, shortness of breath, sudden weight gain, or feel very tired or weak."

• "You will need to have heart function tests while taking doxorubicin (conventional). Talk with the doctor."

• "This medicine may lower the ability of your bone marrow to make blood cells that your body needs. This can lead to needing a blood transfusion and very bad and sometimes deadly bleeding problems or infections. Tell your doctor right away if you have signs of infection like fever, chills, or sore throat; any bruising or bleeding; or if you feel very tired or weak."

• "This medicine may cause tissue damage if the drug leaks from the vein. Tell your nurse if you have any redness, burning, pain, swelling, blisters, skin sores, or leaking of fluid where the drug is going into your body."

FDA Box Warning:

• "DEATHS have occurred when drug was used to treat cancer and psoriasis."

• Monitor patient closely for BONE MARROW, LIVER, LUNG, and KIDNEY toxicities. Explain risks involved, and stress importance of adequate follow up.

• "Use caution when giving high-dose regimen for osteosarcoma. (High-dose regimens for other cancers are investigational.)"

• "Don't give to pregnant women or women with childbearing potential unless medical evidence suggests benefits may outweigh risks. Drug has caused fetal death and congenital anomalies."

• "Unexpectedly severe (sometimes FATAL) BONE MARROW SUPPRESSION (all cells are generated in the bone marrow. What would you do without new cells?) and GI toxicity have occurred in patients receiving drug (usually in high doses) concurrently with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)."

• "Drug causes hepatotoxicity, fibrosis, and cirrhosis, but generally only after prolonged use. Acute liver enzyme elevations are common but usually transient and asymptomatic. Perform periodic liver biopsies in psoriasis patients receiving long-term therapy."

• "Potentially DANGEROUS LUNG DISEASE may arise acutely at any time during therapy. Not always fully reversible, it has occurred at dosages as low as 7.5 mg/week."

• "Interrupt therapy for diarrhea and ulcerative stomatitis; otherwise, hemorrhagic enteritis and DEATH from intestinal perforation may occur."

• "MALIGNANT LYMPHOMAS may occur at low dosages and may not require cytotoxic treatment. Discontinue drug first; if lymphoma doesn't regress, begin appropriate treatment."

•" Drug may induce tumor lysis syndrome in patients with rapidly growing tumors.

• Potentially FATAL opportunistic INFECTIONS may occur.

• When given concomitantly with radiation therapy, drug may increase risk of soft-tissue necrosis and osteonecrosis.
